Polaroid
To get a weaker blur effect , make one without blur and another with blur on, then put in photoshop and adjust opacity of the top layer until happy.
My question, can I make very high resolution file like 6000x6000px ?
Also the Peter Gabriel album "III" uses a Polaroid on the cover with famous smearing of Polaroid, maybe in future version this effect?
It wold be fantastic if you create a Plug-in too one day, to use it in Aperture or Photoshop!.

I like the blur effect, but think that it is a little strong.
It would be great, if the blur effect could be set via slider (like the vignette).
BTW, Poladroid is a lot of fun and creativity.

If you talk about "blur" effect, you can disabled it from the settings panel. Otherwise, nothing has been modified about graphic treatment.

Hi. I want to say that I am disapointed with the new version 0.9.6r0. This new version change the focus too much. Its excesive. Making all out of focus. I realy prefer the older version. Thanks

How about smooshing?
I used to manipulate 'roids by pushing the emulsion around with a stick before it 'set. The results were fantastic. Can you add this functionality?

for some reason, i cant open the program anymore... it worked when i first downloaded it, but when i closed and reopened it... a dialogue box, "error: impossible to save preferences !!! (#2)

coucou,
tout d'abord merci pour ce logiciel que j'affectionne particulièrement depuis plusieurs semaines
mais voilà depuis hier, rien ne va plus!!!! tout d'abord, ma version était soudainement "expirée" donc j'ai désinstallé pour réinstaller et cela ne fonctionnait tjs pas...
donc j'ai réessayé aujourd'hui avec la nouvelle version mais cette fois cela me marque qu'il me faut installer une nouvelle fois qu'il y a eu une erreur...
je suis pas des meilleures en info et j'espere avoir de l'aide car ce logiciel va me manquer sinon...
(j'ai Windows au fait)
it's me again. If you have the problem of expired than double click on the clock (bottom right), change date to 1st of January. Click okay. Start poladroid. NOW!! change back the date to today and have fun.

I *love* Poladroid!... EXCEPT the thumbprint. I love the dust specks, but I *HAAAAAAAATE* the thumbprint! I hate having to accept it if I want the dust specks too. When I get a random color cast that I like, the result is often ruined by the thumbprint. AGH! *please* make it an OPTION to be turned off! Otherwise, THANKS for this.. LOVE IT!

Feature Requests
First: I love it. I was thinking of buying a Polaroid camera but I guess now I'll buy a digicam and simply throw all shots into the Poladroid.
Besides the vintage awesomeness it would be great to have some kind of 'advanced' mode:
- Option to disable the developing time and get the result instantly
- Infinite cartridge
- Further tweaking of the stripes thing. I like the stripes but the fingerprints or somewhat disturbing sometimes.
- Cleaner programming. Why don't you check whether there are running processes instead of showing the annoying dialog on every quit?

First: kudos for a great app
Second: kudos specifically for however you figure out how to crop for square. I am a mazed at the good taste of the algorithm logic. Don't want to know the secret sauce, after all the competition might steal it .. but really curious
THIRD: sometimes I find I would like to tweak the final result somewhat. A photoshop shortcut/ recipe/ pointers that would preserve the look would be great
Then when I do tweak there is the problem of getting the white frame back to an appropriate color .. dunno how to address that besides learning a bit more of photoshop
Lastly an app to approximate a handwritten note would be a GREAT addition to this program. As it is, the standard methods only give straight lined typed words.. only alternative is buying stylus .. much simpler if you could provide the appropriate app with a few writing styles.

Session Won't Restart

Je ne crois pas. Cela semble plutôt lié au fait que je copie le traitement POLAROID et que j'utilise le FRAME (contour blanc) historique autour de la photo. En gros, que je créé une confusion avec le procédé POLAROID.
Lorsque j'ai demandé à APPLE la raison exacte du refus, voici la réponse que j'ai obtenue : your application named POLADROID appears to include features that associate with POLAROID or resemble Polariod photographs.
Et si le problème venait de l'icone du logiciel qui représente un appareil polaroid (et pas un poladroid) ? et pas du logiciel ou d'une quelconque volonté de nuire.
C'est une question que je me pose.

Je suis régulièrement effaré par la stratégie commerciale d'Apple, et d'avantage dans le cas présent.
A force de vouloir tout contrôler dans les moindres détails, Apple se perd souvent dans des méandres d'illogisme dont Dominik subit les conséquences.
Poladroid est une application tout simplement géniale qui apporte à une photo, souvent banale, le zeste de poésie et d'aléatoire qui manque à la photographie numérique.
Nombre d'applications "open source" ou libres valent la peine d'une donation pour soutenir leur auteur et Poladroid en fait largement partie!

how come every time i download the software for mac, there's this exception error number 2 dialog box that appears? it says that the application must shut down. so i close it, then download it again but it doesnt work still. the first time i downloaded it, it worked. next time i tried, it doesnt anymore! how come? what should i do? im using a macbook pro. thank you!
come on no-one carries a polaroid with them all the time, its nice to get the snapshot feel to photos from any event. i'm a fan of the polaroid and holga but they're so unreliable.
and tbh you can do the same effects in photoshop that the poladroid does anyway

Both of you sound like sour grapes. The reality is, the only chance instant films have a chance of surviving is increased interest on the part of the public, that said, I think it is an uphill battle as the world has shifted to digital so widely. IN REAL TIME a real polaroid will have significant value as a result of its physical properties, but in the digital world, it has (And always has had) less value then ANY picture who's source is digital if for no other reason then the fact it is a film being scanned, etc.
I have 4 real polaroid cameras that I have not been able to buy picture cartridges for some time (1 of which is actually my first digital photo printer for my computer-gasp real polaroids from digital pictures how scandalous) and I have 1 camera that the cost of the film and availability makes it nearly impossible to use, I have 3 digi cameras however that I can enjoy taking pictures from any day of the week and I can run thru poladroid and get the same image I would have scanned.
So instead of barking up negative on this tree, why not keep to the positive that this program could revitalize interest in the real film.

i think what u said is on a lot of polaroid enthusiasts' minds. this software's not all that bad, but the problem is the growing number of people who love it so much. before we know it, these images will easily outnumber real polaroid pics and most people won't even know it (except for the people who sell instant films, and eventually people who have to buy them at a higher price).
Okay, I would agree that it's pretty cool to create Polaroid-like images easily without having to worry about the cost of the films. I will also admit that some effects are cool. And when you take it to the next level by making an iPhone version, i mean, kudos to that. Really.
But what makes me sad is the fact that when anyone who uses this software shows off their "photos" to other people, some people (a lot of people, I think) will actually believe that they're really taken by Polaroid cameras. Or when someone sees an actual Polaroid photo, they might think that it's created by this software. Either way it decreases the value of real Polaroid images and hurts the pride of real Polaroid users. If you could perhaps add a watermark on the outcome, then maybe that can help our feelings a little. True, people may still remove the watermark from Photoshop or such, but that will be the extra work they'll have to go through. And they'll realize that they're fooling others as well as themselves (fooling others is worse though).
As someone who's making a push for an instant photography community in my country, I hope you and everyone can see my concern.

I really enjoy your soft, i've been using it since november 08 and it's great. As I don't want to throw away my money anymore in real polaroids (type 88, sic...) it's a great alternative
It's also a great way to recycle your mobile phone shots

Wow..first off, I can't believe all the negative comments on here. It's supposed to be a fun little FREEEEEE program and people are acting like the creater is destroying a way of life. I suggest y'all relax and worry about the other, more important things in life while making some cool poladroids. Anyways...I love the program!! Love it but can no longer use it!
I downloaded this great application and got fabulous results, now I can no longer get it to work after removing it and reloading it as instructed. I would love to use it again. Please help. I agree, if you are a purist then just don't use it, let the rest of us have fun.

This is really cute! One feature I would add-- the option to take photos directly from a webcam (like the mac's built in isight). That would be fun.

the finger print effect is great!!!

HELP!
I can't seem to get hold of it, when I download it, it always comes out in the microsoft word. After hitting the download button, this comes out " After validating that window, please wait at the beginning of the downloading. None new window will be opened, look at your browser downloading window " My friend said this shouldnt be happening. HELP!

Please verify your MAC and give me more information into support area (forum). Perhaps I'll be able to help you and try to understand what's happen...
